If you haven’t already noticed, my “work uniform” is pretty much always a black or white top and jeans.
I love to mix high and low price points. One area to splurge on is bags that are classic. An area I really love to find a good deal on is tees and blazers. Since I am running around all day and traveling often, I like to find quality work pieces that are moderately priced since it could get ruined easily.
A new favorite item I found for work is this inexpensive ModCloth blazer. (under $60.) Since I always feel more polished with a jacket on, I like to wear them year round. This one is perfectly lightweight for Summer. It is also insanely soft and almost feels like a sweatshirt. (So comfy but still structured.)
The nautical anchor buttons are my favorite part and I think they make it look more Summer appropriate. I also love how the puffs at the shoulder make it a bit more modern than a classic blazer.
I paired this jacket with a tucked in simple black V neck tee, a black and gold watch, white skinny jeans, a classic bag and a pair of lace up heels for the office. Oh and if you haven’t had a chance to check out ModCloth before, they also sell cute office accessories like this “every day I’m hustlin” mug.
So the point is, shop for a good deal on tee shirts, blazers and trendy accessories and spend a little more on items you will use everyday like a classic work bag and good white jeans.
