We are engaged – How Luke Proposed!
Saturday, December 22 Luke surprised me big time. He told me that we were going to get our parents together for dinner at one of my favorite restaurants close to their house. Since the place (I thought we were going to) is casual I decided not to wash my hair and quickly just throw on jeans, a tee, an old leather jacket and boots. We pulled up to the restaurant early and he said lets go drive around and look at houses. (Still didn’t think anything of it because we often do that when there is time to kill.)
Next we pulled up to my parents house – still clueless! He got out of the car and walked around my side to open the door. All of a sudden I realized what was about to happen!!!
As I got out of the car and we walked down the driveway he said the sweetest things. (I don’t remember exactly what lol.) When we got to a spot he set up with hurricane candles and white rose petals he got down on one knee and asked me to Marry him!
YES!
Immediately after I said yes, our families ran out of the house to give us a big hug! Luke had asked our friend John Cain to document everything – I couldn’t have dreamed of a more romantic and meaningful proposal!
After celebrating with our families and face timing our friends, we all went to Park House in Highland Park Village to have dinner in the wine room! SO FUN!!! Before our food had even arrived, our photographer John had already delivered our photos printed out, a beautiful frame and the digital copies!
Luke planned the absolute perfect proposal! I really love that both of our families were there to celebrate, that he asked John to take photos and that he COMPLETELY SURPRISED ME!!!
The perfect proposal setup:

Love this pic of Luke and my father 2 weeks before when he asked for permission – my dad sent me this photo right after Luke proposed.
Luke took months to choose the ring! We had talked about how I loved emerald cut a few times, but that was it. He picked out a platinum band with an emerald and baguettes on each side. I absolutely love how classic it is!
Every single thing he wore had something to do with us!
Luke wore the white dress shirt that he also wore on our first date, this classic blazer from a Nordstrom campaign we recently did, jeans from our first Nordstrom campaign, socks I gave him on our first Christmas, the belt I helped him pick out on a trip to Italy and a pair of black cowboy boots we got together.
After celebrating with our families and face timing our friends, we all went to dinner at Park House & took these fun pics in the photo booth!
Snapped this pic on the way to church the next morning! Luke picked out an emerald with baguettes on each side from William Noble. I absolutely love how timeless it is!
We are really excited for the next chapter and are so grateful for all of your kind words!
