Since the fam will all be together for Thanksgiving, it is usually a perfect time to take the Christmas card photo.

I love the idea of having everyone wear black, white or dark red for the photo.  That way you are all coordinating without being too chessy.

This sweater is perfect if you are going for a casual look.  I wore it off the shoulder and it also comes in a Navy color.  I also love this cutout one and this mock neck one in a darker red shade.

Since little ones are often included in the photo taking, it is great to wear comfortable boots for chasing after them.  I got this pair last week and they are so incredibly comfortable that I can wear them all day long.

If you are going for a more formal Christmas card look, a classic black dress and festive earrings are another pretty option.

Every year my family usually trades off between doing a casual outfit or formal dress.  Last year I wore a black lace jumpsuit for another option.

Find a pretty spot outside in the shade to take the photo for the best lighting!  Early morning or late afternoon work well.
