You know the feeling when you put on heels…   You walk with a certain confidence and feel more put together.

Since I can dress a bit more causal for my  job, my go to outfit for work is a quality tee and skinny jeans.   The days when I add heels, put on a little bronzer and style my hair are honestly much more productive.

Ya’ll often ask what a normal work day looks like for me.  I’m naturally an early riser and usually wake up between 5 and 6. (Havn’t set an alarm clock since high school!)  I like to work out first thing by running outside or taking a pilates class.  Then I get ready, get dressed and either have a photoshoot or work on my computer.  Since I mainly work from home, I try to schedule lunches with friends or coffee meetings in the afternoon so that I am not in my home office all day long.  After lunch, I get back to work which includes updating the site, writing content, meetings with advertisers, conference calls, accounting, market research, uploading photos, answering e-mails from a coffee shop or attending events.

The best part about being your own boss is that you can choose your schedule, the downside is that you can’t ever check out.  As an influencer you constantly have to be thinking of new content.

One way I love to do research is by checking out the new arrivals from my favorite online stores.

Moda Operandi has such a beautifully curated website and I love looking at the upcoming collections (especially the fun shoes!) in their pre-order section as well as the in-season shopping boutique.   My favorite brand they carry is Aquazzura.  The designer, Edgardo Osorio was actually one of my first friends in the fashion industry.  We met at a dinner in New York when he was just getting started and it has been really fun to watch him grow over the years.

He is always coming out with cool new shoes and I usually find them surprisingly comfortable.  This new pom pom pair is the perfect way to add a statement to a simple look.  I’m also looking forward to wearing these with white dresses and jeans in the Summer.
