HOW I ONLY WASH MY HAIR TWICE A WEEK

When Pantene reached out about trying their new Pantene Charcoal Collection shampoo and conditioner combo I got really excited when I realized the activated charcoal shampoo detoxes your hair and keeps it clean and refreshed in between washes.  Perfect for us who love dry shampoo and want to spread out days between styling!

How do you only shampoo twice a week?

You guys are often asking how I can get away with washing my hair just twice a week.  My hair type is naturally really curly, super thick and frizzy – I also get highlights every 4-6 weeks so on top of the heat styling and color it gets pretty dry.  This hair also takes forever to blow dry, so I limit washes because of time and also to keep it healthy!!

How do you workout and not wash your hair?

I schedule my hair wash days around my workout schedule.  My long runs are usually on Wednesday and Saturday so those are the two days a week I wash my hair.  The other days I wear a shower cap in the shower and load up on dry shampoo.  Since I workout almost every day, I wear a baseball hat or wrap my hair up into a high bun to keep the style.

Why use an activated charcoal shampoo?

Unlike skin, our hair does not have a built-in purification system. For those of use who want to go three or more days without washing – the scalp oils, dry shampoo and dirt build up.  The charcoal system includes a blend of pro-vitamin B5, activated charcoal, and antioxidants.

Activated charcoal is a purifying ingredient that gently helps detox hair by attracting impurities like a magnet, while releasing antioxidants helping it look clean for more amazing hair days!  This means I can wash twice a week, (sometimes less) and have refreshed hair with body and shine.

Does the activated charcoal mean the shampoo is black?

When I posted the Pantene Charcoal Collection on Instagram stories a few weeks ago, a few of you asked what color the product was and if it was safe for your hair color… Both of the products are a light (basically clear) color, dye-free, silicone-free and color safe!

Helpful tips for washing your hair less!

Plan your hair washes for your more difficult workout days – if you do spin or a long run outside choose that day for a wash.  While working out twist your hair into a bun or wear a baseball cap to save the style.  Use a reusable shower cap to keep your hair dry when rinsing off.  Find a good dry shampoo – I like to use a spray and massage it in with my fingers for more volume.  Try the Pantene Charcoal Collection for a quality deep cleanse that helps you go days between washes.

Pantene Charcoal Collection Shampoo and Conditioner review

I’ve been using the Pantene Charcoal Collection over the past month and love how it gives my hair and scalp a deep cleanse.  The Pantene Charcoal Shampoo helps get rid of the dry shampoo build up and dirt to rinse impurities and keep my hair cleaner between washes.

The Pantene Charcoal Conditioner is made of a nourishing lightweight formula. It’s silicone, paraben and dye-free.  The combo leaves my hair feeling refreshed, moisturized, clean and healthy.  Also love the quick pump style dispenser and it is a great price point for such a good quality product.
