I don’t wash my hair everyday. I know it’s gross but it keeps it healthy. To extend my blowout, I do use this dry shampoo and it’s a miracle worker. I’ve literally tried them all from sprays to baby powder and this is the best! Perfect for blondies because it also covers roots and smells fresh.
I’ve used Fekkai shampoos since forever- They also smell amazing! And a new trick I have is coconut oil. It’s a natural way (without the drying alcohol and hidden ingredients many hair oils have) to repair ends and add shine. I put a little on at night and wash in the morning.
Perfume is one of those things I don’t change very often. I usually have one scent I wear for years. I’ve gone from Bond to Elie Saab (which I still love) to Trish. I pick feminine musky scents and this Trish No. 9 is perfectly sweet and spicy! It has hints of Blackberry and rich Vanilla that I absolutely love.
When it comes to candles, I am a hoarder. I love a good candle – I give them as gifts, use the votives for brushes and flowers, and pretty much always have one lit in every room when home. For certain times of year I love Nest’s ability to make the whole house smell something pumpkin is baking. (pumpkin-chai is everything for fall!) Diptyque’s cool black and white packaging is so chic. Lafco‘s fresh scents make the entire room smell amazing and they come in a wonderful hand blown glass holder. What are your favorites?
I hope you are a product lover like I am because I’ve decided to start a beauty week with three days featuring my favorites: makeup, hair and body, and scents.
First up: Makeup
I like to keep it fairly simple when it comes to products. I have about ten items that I’ve always used and while I like to try others, I keep coming back to these. Here are my favorites that have held a permanent spot front row center on my dressing counter for years.
I am a Bobbi Brown and Chanel girl all the way. My daily routine stars with Bobbi Brown BB cream (SPF 35- two in one its the bomb.) using this brush or my fingers. Then a light dust of powder and bronzer making a 3 shape starting on the forehead and moving down to neck. Next is my secret weapon- The Bobbi Brown tinted eye brightener. It makes you look awake even after an entire night out! Discovered in high school, it has never let me down. Go a shade lighter than your skin tone for an extra brightening effect.
