Wanted to share a few things have helped me with sore muscles! Here are my workout recovery tips for what to do after a difficult workout…

Workout recovery tips:
1. Eat well and Hydrate
Having a high protein meal or snack and drinking lots of water is especially important after training. You have to replenish and fuel up to continue to train. Here are a few of my favorite healthy meals and snacks and here is a post on what I eat before and after workouts.
2. Epsom Salt Bath
My favorite way to sooth sore muscles is to add Dr. Teals Relax & Relief Epsom Salt Soaking Solution to the bath and soak for as long as possible. This one smells so good.
3. Hypervolt
The Hypervolt is a hand held vibrating massage tool that can help relieve muscle soreness and stiffness, improve range of motion and promote circulation. We got one for our home a few months ago and honestly wish we had made this investment sooner!
4. Foam Roll
Foam rolling is one of my favorite workout recovery tips! It is a great way to self massage sore muscles and can help with blood flow and fascia release. I have been using this foam roller for over a year.
5. Lacrosse Ball
When my calves were constantly sore from Marathon training, my PT told me to roll out my feet with a lacrosse ball to loosen up my leg muscles. This really helped!
6. Stretch Band
I use a resistance band to help stretch out on my own.
7. Light low impact movement
When I’m sore from a long run or tough weight workout, I like to do a very low impact easy Peloton ride or quick walk just to get moving on a rest day.
8. Sports Massage
I try to treat myself to a deep tissue sports massage once a month! It helps so much and it is something nice to look forward to when training.

Just picked up these high waist leggings from Nordstrom for Fall! These soft leggings are really comfortable and a good flattering fit. I would wear these for any workout, to run errands, for a travel day and even to lounge around the house. They are under $100 and I’m wearing the color darkest night in the size small for reference.
